START Family Mentor DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT The family mentor will serve as a team member in planning, supporting, and implementing strategies to develop a safe, nurturing, and stable living situation for families with substance use disorders (SUD). The family mentor will serve as a team member of the Sobriety Treatment and Recovery Team (START) program, whos goal is to reduce the number of children entering out-of-home care by providing stronger services and support to the family, as well as reduce the rate of children re-entering care. Candidate must have strong communication skills, and display good listening skills, demonstrate the ability to be self-reflective, ability to work independently and in potentially stressful situations, ability to transport START parents to SUD treatment, medical, education, social services, and mental health appointments, ability to connect START parents with recovery support and meetings, and maintain case history records and prepare reports. Minimum Qualifications: High School Degree, GED, or equivalent, minimum of two years sobriety, experience as a former child welfare client with prior SUD history and treatment and experience as a parent advocate/family mentor in any system preferred. All applicants must submit a completed Tribal employment application, copies of relevant academic transcripts and/or training certificates, current valid driver’s license, proof of enrollment from a federally recognized Tribe and if claiming veteran’s preference, a copy of DD214 must be submitted. This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. FAILURE TO SUBMIT ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION DURING THE SCREENING PROCESS. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period. Salary is $21.66 - $24.90 per hour..
